I'm new to raw. Where do I start?
Start with a complete raw food suitable for your dog's life stage. Our team can explain the brands, help you compare products and talk through ways to make the switch.
What's the difference between complete and complementary?
A complete food is designed to meet your dog's nutritional needs when fed as directed for its stated life stage. Complementary food needs to be combined with other foods to make a balanced diet. Check the label, or ask us to help you find it.
What does 80/10/10 mean in raw dog food?
It's a commonly used recipe ratio: roughly 80% meat, 10% edible bone and 10% offal. The offal is often split into 5% liver and 5% another secreting organ.
The ratio describes ingredients, not whether the food meets every nutritional requirement. Check the product label to see if it's complete or complementary.

Can I mix brands and different proteins?
Yes, you can vary suitable foods. Check whether each product is complete or complementary so the overall diet stays balanced, and introduce changes at a pace your dog tolerates.
How do I store and defrost raw food?
Keep it frozen until needed, defrost in a dedicated covered container in the fridge away from human food, and follow the pack instructions. Wash hands and clean and disinfect bowls, utensils and surfaces after handling.
Is raw dog food safe to handle at home?
Raw pet food can carry harmful bacteria, so safe handling matters. Keep it separate from human food, clean up carefully and consider extra precautions if young children or anyone at higher risk of infection lives with you.
Can puppies eat raw dog food?
There are complete raw foods formulated for puppies. Choose one labelled for growth or your puppy's life stage and follow its feeding guidance; a growing puppy's nutritional needs differ from an adult dog's.
What about bones and natural chews?
We stock different chewing options and can explain their product information. Bones can cause choking, broken teeth or digestive injuries, including when raw, so they aren't suitable for every dog. Never feed cooked bones.
What if my dog has a sensitive stomach?
We can help you check ingredients and compare recipes, but no single food suits every dog. Persistent vomiting, diarrhoea or other symptoms need a veterinary assessment rather than assuming a diet change will treat the cause.
